Castle is a kindergarten designed to Laajasalo, Helsinki. The site locates in Kruunuvuorenranta and therefore the design should fit to its fragile environment. The day care center is designed for 100 kids and the staff. The Day care center serves  also the night and weekend users.
The building is a 50m x 50m squared castle of wood. The wooden trellis makes the facades seem solid and gracefull. At first some may find the building to be a bit dull but as you see kids running around in the roof playground it unveils that there is more inside. Castle conceals a whole exciting secret world inside it. A hidden fun environment reveals where children can climb roofs and slide back to the ground safely.
