The Urban Design Project for the centenary of Myyrmäki began with an examination of the current city structure and an acknowledgment of the challenges posed by rigid urban boundaries, which are shaped by factors such as public and private traffic flow, land parcels, and designated single-use areas like parking lots. While many of these boundaries do not necessarily create an unpleasant environment or cityscape, their impact becomes more pronounced on a large and disorganized scale, resulting in a sense of unfamiliarity.
